Disclosures

What our words do and don’t mean.

Guardian Nest is built on honest guidance, so we put our disclosures where anyone can find them — written in plain language, not legal fog. These apply across the site, the Academy, the Safety Store, and every assessment.

The Guardian Nest Standard™ — what it means

The Guardian Nest Standard™ means a product met our written review criteria across six areas: safety, reliability, usability, installation, value, and family practicality. It is Guardian Nest’s professional review judgment. It is NOT independent laboratory testing, a government certification, regulatory approval, or an independent safety certification. Where a product also meets a recognized third-party standard (such as UL or ASTM), we say so plainly and link to it. If a product has not been independently tested, we never imply otherwise.

Educational disclosure

Everything Guardian Nest publishes — guides, workbooks, checklists, Academy courses, and site articles — is educational family-safety information. It is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or emergency advice, and it never replaces calling 911 or a qualified professional when there is an immediate risk. Skills like CPR are best learned in person from a certified instructor; a written guide is not the same as supervised practice.

Assessment disclosure

A Guardian Nest assessment reflects the home as we found it on the day of the visit and the information you shared with us. Safety is an ongoing practice, not a single inspection: conditions change, children grow, and new risks emerge. No assessment, plan, or progress indicator guarantees that an accident cannot happen. Progress percentages in My Nest measure completed activities and learning — never an objective score of how “safe” a home is.

Product disclosure

Products in the Safety Store are sold by Guardian Nest subject to the terms shared at checkout and over the phone. We encourage a short conversation before you buy, because a product is only protective when it actually fits your home and the people in it. Product availability, colors, and specifications can change; call us to confirm current stock and exact details.

Affiliate & third-party links

Links to official authorities (poison control, CPSC, FEMA, the Red Cross, and similar) take you to independent organizations we do not control. These links are provided for families to reach the correct authoritative source quickly — Guardian Nest does not host or replace them, and we are not responsible for their content.

Cookies & privacy preferences

This site uses only the cookies needed to make forms and sign-in work, keep the site secure, and understand rough page usage so we can improve it — never to profile your family. We don’t run third-party advertising trackers, and family-profile information is never placed in analytics or marketing systems. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we honor it. You can clear cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings without losing access.

A note on legal review

These pages are written to be transparent and are not a substitute for professional legal advice. Before public launch, Guardian Nest should have this disclosure set, the Privacy & Terms pages, and any assessment agreements reviewed by an attorney familiar with consumer, privacy, and children’s-data regulations — especially COPPA and state privacy laws. Until then, nothing on this site is a legal promise or a compliance representation, and no certification, insurance claim, license, or guarantee is claimed anywhere on it.
